Jennifer Lawrence Just Became Single At The Best Possible Time
Life is seriously looking up for Jennifer Lawrence. Not that it was ever looking down, but she just has so much going on for her right now that I can hardly even handle myself. I don't know how she does it. It was revealed today that Jennifer and her boyfriend, Nicholas Hoult, have broken up. I can hear you rending your hair and screaming over there — “Why that's not good news at all! They were together for two years! She must be devastated!” And maybe she is, right now. Probably.
But you're also underestimating our dear Jennifer. She isn't like normal girls. She's a certified badass, and not just for her roles in movies like Winter's Boneand Hunger Games. She eats what she wants, notably saying she'd rather look normal in real life and chubbier than other actresses in movies than normal in movies and scary thin in real life. She loves Honey Boo Boo. She doesn't take herself too seriously. You know this girl is handling her break-up like a real pro right now. And besides, look at the timing! There has never been a better time for J-Law to be single! She's nominated for an Academy Award for Silver Linings Playbook, and got to make out with Bradley Cooper, who's also newly single…eh? Eh? That could happen! Especially if she isn't moping around pining for Nicholas Hoult…is she?
Nope! Sounds like not! In fact, according to In Touch, the only reason the two of them broke us is because “they're young and grew apart.” But, according to the same source, “they remain friends”. See? What are you worrying about? No cheating scandals, no raging fights. They just grew apart! They've been open about their relationship from the beginning, so their maturity in handling its end doesn't surprise me at all. In an interview with Elle just last month, Jennifer said:
“[My boyfriend] is honestly my best friend, and hopefully I'm his best friend too. He's my favorite person to be around and he makes me laugh harder than anybody.”
See, there you have it, rest of the world. That's how you handle a breakup. With respect for yourself and for the other person. Not by heading into the studio to write a record about it and put in every detail of your relationship except for their name. Yeah, I'm looking at you, Taylor Swift. Take a lesson from J-Law and keep it clean.
