Jennifer Hudson Opens Up About Family Murders On ‘Behind The Music’
In the two years since the brutal murder of her mother, brother and nephew by her brother-in-law, Jennifer Hudson has remained mum about the horrific event. But on her Behind the Music doc last night, she spoke about what she went through, and how she got through it.
“It's all like a blur,” she said. “It was surreal…it was like I was outside of myself.”
Getting teary, Jennifer said she was asked to do a film during that period in her life, but had to decline. “I was like, I have to get adjusted to who I am now,” she said. “So I can't be another character if I don't know who I am.”
Other highlights from the documentary include Jennifer's sister revealing that “All Jennifer wanted to do was sing…and be famous.” And did you know that the night that the Oscar winner was voted off American Idol there were storms in the Chicago area, knocking down phone lines and preventing her family and many of her fans from voting for her? Very suspect.
Now an award-winning actress and chart topping singer, Jennifer is happily engaged with a son — and recently became a spokesperson for Weight Watchers.
