9 Celebrities Who Would Be Terrible To Work On A Group Project With

Project Runway group challenge

It’s still back-to-school time! Can you believe it? It feels like those youngsters should have been in and out and done with the whole semester already.  But alas, class is in session, and you know what that means — group projects! And much like group challenges are the worst kinds of challenges on Project Runway, group projects in school are pretty much torture. Because guess what, guys? People can be pretty terrible. There are a lot of reasons people are terrible groupmates, and as with anything, you can find a celebrity who perfectly embodies each of those awful attributes. So get out your pen and paper and go with me on this journey as we explore nine stars who would be the absolute worst partners.

1. Lindsay Lohan

Even if we remove the whole substance abuse and breaking the law issue, Lindsay Lohan is still one of the most unreliable celebrities in Hollywood. Not only is she notorious for showing up to work late, but she went to approximately 500 rehab facilities before settling on one. She’d be the girl who emails you at 1 AM the night before a presentation saying, “I can’t figure out how to do this. Give me another part of the project to do” and then would casually walk into the classroom while your group was presenting the next day and sit in her desk as if she hadn’t missed anything.

2. Justin Bieber

Justin would be a terrible partner for a lot of reasons, not least of which being that he’d refuse to dress up when the group presents the slideshow.  But the other issue with him is that he thinks taking responsibility for things is the grossest. So if he was the one who made that typo on slide 5 or put a picture of Pope Alexander instead of Alexander Pope, and the teacher asked who was responsible, he’d just stand there silently, probably with his shirt off.

3. Kanye West

I imagine Kanye's the kind of guy who, at your group's first meeting, would declare that he has the whole thing under control, and you should just trust him. Because he's an artist, and it'll be the BEST PRESENTATION OF ALL TIME. And then you'd get to class and see that the presentation is just him standing behind a screen doing shadow puppets and yelling facts.

4. Jennifer Lawrence

People aren’t always bad partners because they’re irresponsible or annoying or lazy. Sometimes they’re really awesome and you feel so lucky to have been paired up with them. Until suddenly it’s 4 AM and you haven’t gotten anything done because you’ve been busy laughing and being BFFs.

5. Kristen Stewart

Kristen would probably do her part of the work just fine, but when it came to presenting in front of the class, all awkwardness would break loose. And based on the above GIF, she'd probably knock your laptop off the podium in the middle of the PowerPoint presentation. At least she's got that Twilight money to buy you a new one.

6. Miley Cyrus

You know that group member who says they’ll put together a really great poster because they’re really good at crafts and then shows up on the day the assignment’s due with a neon green poster board covered in sloppy letters cut out of magazines and squiggly pipe cleaners around the edge, plus a million other random craft materials strewn about in various clashing colors? Yeah, that’s Miley. She can’t stop. She would also probably try to convince you that twerking should be involved.

7. Justin Timberlake

Talk about an attention hog! Very often you’ll get placed in a group with someone who makes it all about them, especially when you’re giving an oral presentation. They’ll shove you out of the way when queuing up that video and talk over you when you start to explain something. You’re *NSYNC in this situation, in case you hadn’t noticed.

8. James Franco

James Franco's the guy who'll offer to help with every single aspect of the project because he's just so interested in everything. The only problem is that he wouldn't be particularly good at any of the things he offered to do, and he'd be so overworked that he'd show up for the presentation with no energy and fall asleep before it's your group's turn to go up to the front.

9. Ryan Lochte

Ryan Lochte No Idea(via)

This one should be pretty self-explanatory. Ryan Lochte might have a few gold medals, but he didn't win them for thinking. He's the kind of guy who will be really eager to help, and it'll be cute, but in the end you'll just do the whole thing yourself. And I don't think his feelings would be hurt, because he'd still probably think he did stuff. Win/win.
