Fame doesn't come out until September 25, but the theme song is already stuck in our heads. The hip-hop remix features a rap that's not only performed, but also written, by one of the movie's shining stars, Collins Pennie. Fame hits really close to home for Collins, who was out on his own at 15 and worked his way up from the streets of New York. Now, he's starring in one of the biggest movies of the year. Is that a perfect Hollywood ending or what? But for Collins, this is only the beginning.
When you got the part of Malik inFame, did you realize how big the movie would be?
With the 1980's version being so popular, I figured fans from the original would come back and fall in love with this one, [but] the amount of buzz we're getting is crazy. I could've never expected it. It's great!
