As the snarky Dr. Kutner, Kal Penn was one of our fave characters on House, M.D. so we were shocked, to say the least, when his character committed suicide on last week's eppie! Little did we know that Kal was planning on making a much bigger career move as he leaves House for the White House. Read on to find out why Kal decided to take a break from acting and take up politics!

Were you taken aback by your character being killed off?
I think everyone is always taken aback with every episode on that show. We get the script every week and we don't know what's going to happen. The writers are so brilliant in creating and crafting these characters, but also the character of House, it's virtually impossible to get into his head. So we're sort of used to going page to page, like, well is this actually going to happen and that goes for any episode. So, I was probably as shocked as the audience was when I first found out about it.
