Being a twentysomething in 2017 is super stressful, but if there's one thing we can count on, it's that TV will accurately portray our struggles. Admit it: Relating to characters we see on TV or in movies make us all feel a little less alone.
The latest show bringing our millennial woes to light is Insecure. The HBO hit series created by and starring Issa Rae, follows BFFs Issa and Molly (played by Yvonne Orji) who have been best friends with each other since their college days at UCLA. Both in their late 20s now, the show explores their career and relationship lives with both hilarious and completely relatable results.
From faking a “run-in” with an ex (been there) to having the most awkward first date ever (done that), here are 16 times the show summed up our twenties to a perfect T.

1. That time Issa gave herself a pep-talk in her bathroom mirror

We do it when we first wake up in the morning. When we are getting ready to go out. When we have a big job interview or a first date. No matter the time or day, we can always count on a good ole self-help mirror talk to get us right. Like Issa knows all too well, there's something about shouting feel-good mantras to ourselves that can make all the difference in our lives and confidence. We've all done this plenty of times and subsequently hoped that our roommates/coworkers didn't hear us through the door.
