Although Jerry Seinfeld might say, “Happy birthday? No such thing,” I'd like to wish Julia Louis-Dreyfus a big, fat, balloons and cake and confetti happy birthday. She turns 53 today and she has a lot to celebrate, among that being the winner of four Emmy Awards, one Golden Globe award and five Screen Actors Guild Awards and, of course, a Crushable Crushie* for being one of the first funny women on television. (*pending trademark approval.)

When it comes to funny women on television, certain names come to mind: Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Mindy Kaling. And this is not undeserved; those are some darn funny ladies. But they're not the only actresses on TV who can make me giggle, snort and cackle all within one episode. So, in honor of J. L-D's birthday, here are the eight most ignored funny women in television. Hang onto your pants, it's going to be a wild ride.

1. Julia Louis-Dreyfus

The birthday woman herself! Who didn't laugh with (and, occasionally, at) Elaine Benes on Seinfeld? You may not have remembered her stint on Saturday Night Live prior to the hit comedy show, but you can bet she was funny. Currently, Julia portrays the funniest U.S. vice president ever on HBO's Veep.

2. Michaela Watkins

Like Julia, Michaela was also an SNL cast member, though only for one season. After being fired from the show in 2009, she played a recurring role alongside Julia on the sitcom The New Adventures of Old Christine. Since then she's had roles in various TV shows and movies, currently co-starring on ABC's Trophy Wife as an erratic, unpredictable and free spirited ex-wife. What I mean by those adjectives: funny. She's a funny woman.

3. Amy Schumer

If you haven't watched any of Amy's stand-up routines or seen her sketch comedy Inside Amy Schumer, you are missing out on one hilarious woman. She tackles everything on sex, relationships and the craziness of life in a blunt, it's-funny-because-it's-true kind of way. If your underwear was hanging out on the subway, Amy would tell you. And probably everyone else near you…but in a hilarious way.

4. Julie Bowen

You probably know Julie as Ty Burell's wife on Modern Family, a hilarious show where Sofia Vergara claims much of the spotlight. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Sofia, but Julie is just as hot and just as funny. Plus, as she told Ellen, she once got yelled at on the red carpet for stopping too long to talk to Jon Hamm and screwing up the photo order. Woman after my own heart! (Well, woman after the man who's after my heart.)
