We can’t always get what we want, guys. And I know that because Crushable wanted to put a bunch more people on our 2013 list of 25 Crushable Guys Under 25 that’s coming out tomorrow. It’s always a great list, whether we do it with girls or guys, and we look forward all year to putting it together for you.

But then the time actually comes to do it, and we realize that that attractive, talented, extremely crushable guy we had your heart set on making the list is actually over twenty-five, we feel devastated. Sure, it’s a first-world problem, but it’s always such a bummer. We love getting a list set up of all our favorite guys out there, and it’s always a letdown when we don’t get to include our favorite guys just because stupid old time passed a little too quickly. UGH.

So we’re striking back at Father Time this year, and carving out a little niche for all our favorite fellas so they still get their moment to shine. Here they are, everyone — the 13 Guys who just missed the cut-off for 25 Crushable Guys Under 25. Or as we call it around here, the graduating class.

1. Frank Ocean

Frank was actually on our final list for the Crushable 25, but he turned twenty-six on October 28th, so sadly, we had to kick him to the curb. Missed it by less than a week.

He began his career writing songs for other artists like Beyonce and Brandy, but he decided to branch out into his own material and he’s never looked back. His  debut album Channel Orange got six Grammy nominations in 2012 and received pretty much universal acclaim, especially after Frank publicly (and bravely) acknowledged that he was gay, and that the album’s tracks about unrequited love were about men. It’s a tough world to be out in, but Frank has held his own in the industry as well as in a hostile situation with Chris Brown and his crew, so I’m not worried about Frank at all — it’s 2013, what do we care about peoples’ sexual preference.

Frank announced earlier this year that he’s started work on his second studio album, for which he’ll work with people like PharrellTyler, The Creator, and Danger Mouse. He also announced and performed a fourteen-date tour in Canada and Europe starting in June 2013, so hopefully a North American tour is next on his list.

2. Skylar Astin

Oh Skylar, you twenty-six year old thief of my heart. Be gone from this place. We cannot be together.

Skylar got his start on Broadway, dropping out of school to star in Spring Awakening. His last performance was in 2008, and he followed that up with a lot of bit parts in movies and starring roles in TV series that didn’t get picked up, but he finally caught his break in 2012 with the movie Pitch Perfectwhich is where I’m pretty sure everyone fell in love with him and his amazing voice. He went on to start in 21 & Over and he has  a movie called Flock Of Dudes in post-production, and a lot of rumors swirling about him reprising the role of Jesse for Pitch Perfect 2so cross your fingers, ladies.

3. Ryan Coogler

I don’t care that he’s twenty-seven so he didn’t technically just age out of Crushable 25 — this guy is a genius and you need to know his name. He’s the director of the film Fruitvale that came out this year to tons of critical acclaim. In case you haven’t already seen it — first of all do that now, immediately — it was the film about the shooting death of unarmed Oscar Grant in 2009 that won the Grand Jury Award at Cannes, and will be nominated for Best Picture if anyone knows what’s good for them.

Oh and it was Ryan’s first feature-length film. NO BIG DEAL. It was produced and developed by Forest Whitaker because he was so impressed by the level of craftsmanship. Ryan went to USC and had created some award-winning short films up to this point, but if this is what he’s producing straight out of the gate, then I have a feeling we ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

4. Jay Pharoah

Did you know that Jay Pharoah got on Saturday Night Live when he was only twenty-three? Cripes. He’s  twenty-six now, but all that means is that his stellar impressions of everyone from Barack Obama to Will Smith to Michael Strahan have only gotten better over time. I think he’s one of the most underused talents on the show, so I couldn’t be happier that he’s expanding into other projects, like the two movies he currently has in post-production and his Kanye West parody videos that he releases online.

5. Evan Peters

For a long time, twenty-six year old Evan Peters was booking only commercials and supporting roles in movies and television shows and doing some stage work, but he finally got his big break by being cast as Tate Langdon in the first season of American Horror StoryAnd since he’s back as the frat boy Kyle in the current season, Coven, we can’t wait to see what’s next for him.

6. Michael B. Jordan

(Photo: FayesVision/WENN)

Can you tell that I’m obsessed with Fruitvale, yet? Well I hope so, because it’s amazing, and Michael was the star, and has received rave reviews for his performance. Which is unsurprising, considering he’s also been heavily lauded in the past for roles in Friday Night Lights and The WireTwo shows that everyone has been telling me to watch for forever, and Michael B. Jordan’s extremely crushable nature might be just the impetus I need to get my ass…onto the couch, watching those shows on my laptop.

As far as upcoming projects, Michael will be working with Fruitvale director (and fellow list-inhabiter) Ryan Coogler again on a Rocky spinoff called Creed, where he plays Apollo Creed’s grandson, and as Johnny Storm in the Fantastic Four reboot. Get it.

7. Sam Claflin

(Photo: WENN)

It turns out that Sam is twenty-seven, which was a big disappointment at Crushable HQ, because we’re pretty serious fans. I mean, how can you not be, with that face and that adorable British accent? It also doesn’t hurt that he beat out every hot guy ever for the role of Finnick Odair in Catching Fire, which we can’t wait to see, and he was maybe the only good part of Snow White And The HuntsmanHe was also in the fourth Pirates Of The Caribbean movie, yes, but please don’t hold that against him.

8. Christopher Abbott

Meet The 13 Guys Of The Graduating Class Of 25 Crushable Guys Under 25 Christopher Abbott NYC Premiere of The Master September 11 2012 jpg

(Photo: WENN)

In the world of Girls where most guys are either pushovers or monsters (and don’t worry, they switch back and forth from week to week), Christopher has done as good a job as he can of keeping his character Charlie semi-consistent. Which is impressive, considering. I should probably judge him a little more harshly, since he apparently has a bit of a beef going with Lena Dunham, considering he left Girls so suddenly, but I’m inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one. And in case you want some tastes of Christopher without all that Brooklyn flavor, you can see him in the already-released Martha Marcy May MarleneHello I Must Be Going, or the upcoming movie The Sleepwalker.

9. Tom Felton

(Photo: Dominic Chan/WENN)

If you’re anyone I’d like to hang out with, you remember twenty-six year old Tom as Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies, but he’s more than all that, you guys. He’s a skilled singer, did multiple projects in between Harry Potter films, which is super impressive, and has two projects in post-production, including a TV series called Murder In The First, and a movie called Ghosts of the Pacific. But don’t worry, Tom — you’ll always be a Slytherin to us. (In a good way — we hear he’s always super kind and polite to his fans.)

10. Kendrick Lamar

Meet The 13 Guys Of The Graduating Class Of 25 Crushable Guys Under 25 Kendrick Lamar August 31 2013 Las Vegas jpg

(Photo: DJDM/WENN)

Twenty-six year old Kendrick first started to get famous with the release of his first independent album Section.80but he’d already released four mixtapes before that, so he was pretty ready for the fame that was about to show up. And show up it did, especially after he released his first studio album, good kid, mA.A.d city in 2012 to widespread acclaim. It debuted at number two on the Billboard 200, and later went on to go platinum, causing MTV to award Kendrick the label of ‘Hottest MC In The Game’ in 2013. He’ll also be opening for Kanye on his Yeezus Tour, and will resume working on his second studio album upon his return. Can’t wait.

11. Miles Teller

Meet The 13 Guys Of The Graduating Class Of 25 Crushable Guys Under 25 Miles Teller Screening of The Spectacular Now July 30 2013 Los Angeles California jpg

(Photo: FayesVision/WENN)

Twenty-six year old Miles Teller has done a lot of supporting roles in projects you’ve probably heard of like the Broadway and film versions of Footloose (he can sing!) and Rabbit Hole, but his big push this year came from The Spectacular Nowwhich he starred in with Shailene Woodley. He also did 21 & Over alongside fellow lister Skylar Astin, and will appear later this year in DivergentWe can’t wait to see where he goes next.

12. Dane DeHaan

Meet The 13 Guys Of The Graduating Class Of 25 Crushable Guys Under 25 Dane Dehaan Kill Your Darlings Premiere October 17 2013 London England UK jpg

(Photo: WENN)

Dane is twenty-seven, but he tricked me into thinking he was under twenty-five by frequently playing younger characters, like Ryan Gosling‘s son in The Place Beyond The Pines and Daniel Radcliffe‘s smooching buddy in Kill Your DarlingsHe’s been compared looks-wise to a young Leonardo DiCaprio (I can sorta see it), and if his career continues the way it has been, they’ll have more in common than just their appearance. But we’ll have to wait for his next two projects to see, two movies currently in post-production called Life After Beth and The Amazing Spider-Man 2in which he plays Harry Osborn. Heard of it?

15. Novak Djokovic

Meet The 13 Guys Of The Graduating Class Of 25 Crushable Guys Under 25 Novak Djokovic US Open 2013 August 27 2013 NEw York City NY jpg(Photo: Joel Ginsburg/WENN)

We couldn’t live with ourselves if we didn’t get at least one athlete on the list, but our brains are designed to hold pop culture knowledge, not player stats. Which is why I got so excited when I remembered Novak. Tennis! I follow tennis! But at twenty-six years old, he’s a year out of our age range, which is unfortunate considering his record. He’s a tennis player from Serbia who is currently ranked number two in the world, having held the number one spot for a total of 101 weeks before losing it to Rafael Nadal. Sure, we could have him on this list, too — but he’s already got so much, why let it go to his head? We prefer to go for the up-and-comer.

Not that Novak is really an up-and-comer, per se. He’s won six Grand Slam titles, turned pro at age sixteen, has won almost $55 million in prize money over his career, and is generally considered to be one of the best tennis players of all time, so I think he’s pretty up. It’s just that we…um…think he’s cute. So he stays on the list.
