The Honey Boo Boo Molester Might Be The Father Of One Of Mama June’s Kids, Ugh
Man, just when I thought this Honey Boo Boo molestation horror show might be over, what with the show being cancelled and Child Protective Services getting involved, another bombshell gets dropped. According to this new information, the same man who molested one of Mama June‘s daughters might actually be the father of another. Ugh. It just gets worse and worse.
The man in question is Mark McDaniel, a convicted child molester who served ten years on a conviction similar to but unrelated to the accusations brought against him by Anna ‘Chickadee' Cardwell. Anna is June's oldest daughter, and was eight years old at the time of her abuse at the hands of her mother's boyfriend. June's next oldest daughter is Lauryn ‘Pumpkin' Shannon, and the identity of her father has never been publicly shared (or potentially known) by June. At least until now. In an interview with Dr. Drew on HLN, Anna revealed that Pumpkin believes Mark is her father:
“You know, out of all the kids we have, Mama does not know who Pumpkin's dad is. And Pumpkin thinks it's Mark, which kind of hurts my feelings, because Mama is making her believe that someone who did that to me is her father.”
I can't imagine that being phrased in a more simple, effective way. Whether Mark is Pumpkin's father or not, June is making her believe that he is, a fact made even more horrifying and stomach-churning because Pumpkin was allegedly present during some of the episodes of sexual abuse against her sister. It's an impossible position for the two sisters, because with June refusing to take responsibility for her actions, the only place for Pumpkin's anger to be directed is right at Anna, for making these accusations against the man she believes to be her father.
“I don't really care. Me and Pumpkin have never been that close…Now with her cussing me out, [saying], ‘Screw you! Fuck you!' I'm just done with it.”
I mean yeah, that's the worst part, that this tragedy is now damaging relationships within the family as Anna sticks to her story and Pumpkin is asked to show maturity and judgement far beyond her years. She sees the way her mother is acting and is likely mimicking that in an effort to protect her ‘father', which not only explains why she was so loyal to June's version of events and her denials, but also shows you exactly how these cycles continue.
