Rumor Has It Bill Murray Shredded The Ghostbusters 3 Script

By  |

When asked if there's gonna be a Ghostbusters 3, Bill Murray has provided vague answers that are nonetheless infused with negativity; as he told Cinemablend, “It’s just really the movie studio. They love the franchise, they’d just like to re-create it again. All this talk is just talk. It drives me nuts, it’s just people talking… Quit bothering me. Until someone actually creates a great script it’s just hogwash, it doesn’t mean anything.”

And apparently the official script is still firmly in the “hogwash” stage. The National Enquirer reports — here's our necessary grain of salt — that Bill Murray has been dodging calls from the Ghostbusters 3 producers even though he's signed on for the project and got script approval. But when Dan Akroyd and Harold Ramis sent him the latest draft, he reportedly sent it back shredded into confetti, with the note No one wants to pay money to see fat, old men chasing ghosts!

Except that we think that sounds pretty funny. The Enquirer says that Akroyd and Ramis are gonna go ahead with the movie anyway. I Watch Stuff brings up a good point: Murray agreed to Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties in 2006 but was unwilling to touch a third Ghostbusters? Actors are weird.
