Teacher Threatens His Class With Game Of Thrones Spoilers So They’ll Shut Up, Deserves The Iron Throne

Game of Thrones Daenerys Yes All Men Must Die

How do I go about nominating someone for a Nobel Prize? Because there's a math teacher somewhere in the UK who used the threat of Game of Thrones spoilers to get his class to shut up. And, here's the best part: it worked like a freaking charm. Pray tell, if that's not exactly the kind of genius that we should be celebrating, then what is?

The teacher, whose name wasn't released along with this amazing story but who is my newest nomination for knight of the kingsguard, asked who in his class are fans of the show. And because apparently everyone who's anyone is, most of his students raised their hands. As you can imagine, that's when their worst nightmare began.

“Well, I’ve read all the books. If there is too much noise, I will write the names of the dead on the board.”

But no one in the world (except maybe the ironborn) could be such a cruel, cruel person, right? I'm sorry, I should say that that's what his students thought, but actually there is at least one. (Are you picking up what I'm putting down?) Belgian newspaper nieusblad.be reports that the teacher followed up his threat by beginning to list the names of everyone who dies in Season 3 to let them know that, no, he definitely meant business.

“They [the dead] are enough to fill the whole year and I can even describe how they die.”

Omg, I can practically hear the gasps traveling throughout that classroom and I can definitely hear the gasps traveling throughout these here internets as you read this.

Because, if I've learned anything about the internet, it's that spoilers are Satan. Yes, even “spoilers” which aren't actually spoilers at all because the books on which the show is based have been out for ages. Actually, people seem to especially hate those kinds. So his students had better be extra quiet because Season 4 is right on the horizon and I feel this teacher growing more and more powerful each day, like the Khaleesi's dragons.

Which is precisely why I think we'd be missing a great opportunity to reward true innovation and genius if we didn't give this guy some sort of honor. I've put a Nobel Peace Prize on the table, but with a little encouragement, I'd be willing to up my offer to the Iron Throne.
