Emma Stone Just Reacted To Her Oscar Nomination With The Best F***ing Statement Ever

By  |

Emma Stone Freaking OutMah girl Emma Stone got nominated for her first Oscar this morning for her role in Birdman. Or, as the Academy prefers to call it because they're pretentious, Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance). It doesn't matter what the movie's called, because Emma just gave a statement reacting to the news, and it's just about the best f***ing statement about f***ing anything that I've ever read in my entire f***ing life.

If you're wondering why I'm dropping so many F-bombs around here, it's because I saw Emma Stone doing it, so now I've decided to do it too. That's right, her statement included the F-word. More than once. Behold:

“Well, this is surreal. I am completely knocked out. Thank you to the Academy for this incredible honor. I am very proud and lucky to be a part of Birdman and can’t believe it came to this. I am so f***ing excited. Are you allowed to say f*** when you’re making a statement for the Oscars? I’m just really f***ing excited.”

I'm in love, I'm in love, and I don't care who knows it! I just love that she gave a heartfelt, serious response at first and then just let loose. Because being nominated for an Oscar is exciting. F***ing exciting, to be specific. Unfortunately we don't get to actually see or hear Emma saying these beautiful words, since she's currently starring in Cabaret on Broadway and is apparently on vocal rest.

But she won't be when she goes to the Oscars! Emma will probably lose out to someone like Patricia Arquette (although upsets aren't uncommon, so don't give up on your dream), so we likely won't get to hear her make the censors nervous with an acceptance speech. But we'll get plenty of red carpet interviews. Maybe she'll channel Elisabeth Moss and give the ManiCam the finger. I'm just so fucking excited for Emma Stone, you guys. Yeah, I didn't even put the asterisks that time. That's how fucking excited I am.
