Emily Blunt managed to pass the notoriously difficult U.S. citizen test back in August, and she appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night to discuss how she feels about being one of us. Jimmy is a close friend and neighbor of the actress, and he said: “I hope you know how thrilled I am that you are one of us now.”

Emily then asked: “Really? Did you not like that I wasn’t before?”

“There was a wedge between us, I felt like, yes,” Jimmy said, adding, “We always get the sense that when people come here from England they kind of look down their noses at us.”

Emily replied, “Oh, we do! Yeah! Very much. Because we’re better than them. But now I’m only half better.”

She also lamented about how difficult the test was, arguing that “most Americans would have no idea how to answer any of these questions.” (She’s more than likely right on that one!) She also laughed at the “background check test,” saying:

“They asked me things like, ‘Are you a habitual drunkard?’ And I said, ‘Well, I was last night.’ ‘Have I ever been a prostitute?’ was another question. I said, ‘Well, I was.'” Her lawyer was not amused. Jimmy then gave Emily his version of the U.S. citizen test, asking her the following very important questions: “What are the giant refillable sodas at 7-Eleven called?” (She was close in thinking it was a Slurpee.) “What does MLB stand for?” (Emily did not know, but knows that MIB stood for Men in Black.)”What does DQ stand for?” (She did not quite pick up on the cheeky audience member who attempted to demonstrate eating ice cream to her.) Oh Emily. It’s okay. Dairy Queen is terrible anyway. Check out the rest of the interview here:
