Demi Lovato’s Case For Why Mermaids Are Real Is So Charming, You’ll Totally Believe Her

Demi Lovato mermaids interview Seth Meyers June 2014

Demi Lovato went on Late Night With Seth Meyers last night to be her usual adorable self. She's so consistently sweet and charming that I'm starting to think we should use her to solve conflict around the world. Just place her between two people/nations/political parties that are arguing, have her say a few sentences about mermaids, and both sides will immediately go, “Aww, she's so cute. You agree? Well, I guess you can't be all bad. Let's stop fighting.” Done. World peace. Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, but either way there's really no denying her charm.

And that whole mermaid business I mentioned wasn't something I made up, either. Demi talked to Seth at length about her love of conspiracy theories. First of all, she knows aliens are real, and I have to agree with her. In case you were wondering if I believe in aliens or not (and why wouldn't you be?), the answer is yes. Like Demi says, how can we be so self-centered as earthly humans to believe we're the only people in the universe? Or more specifically, how can Seth Meyers be so self-centered? Filthy alien denier.

I wasn't quite so with Demi on the mermaid front going into this video, however. Still, I'm always up for a good conspiracy theory. The celebrity-related ones are especially fun, especially when there might be fake pregnancies involved, but I'm open to mermaid-related theories as well. And Demi's just so enthusiastic about all the proof that mermaids exist and all the documentaries she's watched on the subject that I finished this video a mermaid believer. I have a feeling you might too. If adorable celebrity interviews like this one can exist, who's to say fish people can't as well? Just think about that for a minute.
