Even If You Survived Will and Amy, This Rhea Perlman And Danny Devito Divorce News Will Kill You

By  |

Even though many of us are still picking up the pieces after the devastating news that one of our favorite couples, Will Arnett and Amy Poehler are divorcing, our freshly broken hearts are going to suffer another devastating blow: Rhea Perlman and Danny Devito are ending their marriage. That’s right, The Wormwoods are separating.

The couple captured many hearts as the mean spirited parents of Matilda Wormwood  in the 1996 film Matilda. I mean, who can forget Danny Devito’s pinstriped gangster suits, or Rhea’s bleached blonde hair? Even if they didn’t take proper care of Matilda, they loved each other, and that’s what counts. If I had to have any awful movie parents, I’d choose The Wormwood's any day.

People reports that reps for the couple, who married in 1982, confirmed their separation. Even though it's only being called a “separation,” we all know what that really means: divorce. I do have to say though, 30 years together is an incredible amount of time, especially for Hollywood standards. With so much history and three kids under their belt, I’m hoping that this was an amicable decision, and that these two will at least remain close friends. After these last couple of blows to my already lukewarm heart, I’m starting to question my beliefs in everlasting love. Does it even exist, or is it just one of those things that people make up – like unicorns, Santa Claus, and privacy on the internet?

I’m not sure the public can take much more of this heartache – I know I can't. This weekend I’m going to do what any normal person would do have and have a Matilda marathon to mend my broken heart. For now, I’ll look at this photo and remember the happier times…
