Don’t Worry, They Did A Game Of Thrones Tribute On Dancing With The Stars Last Night

Corbin and Karina Game of Thrones tribute on Dancing With The Stars october 2013I know what you're about to say, “Alexis, there isn't enough crossover between completely unrelated television shows these days!” But you need not even bother saying that, for the great lords of pop culture in the sky have heard your prayer and granted you their mercy by having one couple do a Game Of Thronesthemed dance on last night's episode of Dancing With The Stars.

The couple in question was Corbin Bleu of High School Musical fame and his partner Karina Smirnoff, one of the show's professional dancers. And thank goodness it was the two of them, because I don't know if any of the other pseudo-celebrities could pull off playing a shirtless, be-ponytailed Khal Drogo opposite Katrina's powerful, electric portrayal of Daenerys Targaryen. Oh yeah guys. They were in character. They were in character HARD, dancing the Viennese Waltz to that GoT opening credits theme song.

It's all very intense, you guys. We have orange and yellow light, a low fog creeping over the floor, and lots of passionate touching and gazing into each others' eyes. Karina even gets on the ground to get dragged around by Corbin a little — not sure what the deeper meaning is there, although its dancing so I'm SURE there is one — and even though the two of them didn't warn the spoiler alert at all, there totally was one. See if you can spot it.

Um, Corbin lying on the ground at the end? And Daenerys walking away to sit on the Iron Throne? Did George R. R. Martin give them some kind of advance copy of an unpublished manuscript or something? Because as far as I'm concerned, in the books that have been released so far, Khal Drogo has died, but the rump on the Iron Throne most certainly does not belong to Emilia Clarke.

So until this is cleared up, I'm officially boycotting all things pop culture. That is, unless I get an explanation for why I haven't been given a sneak peek of the story like the DWTS cast, or until they invite Bill Nye back onto the show. I'll accept either one.
