Duh-duh, duh-duh, duh-duh… Ryan Seacrest was almost shark bait over the weekend!

The American Idol host was about "eight feet out" in the ocean when he felt something swim by him, he told listeners on his KIIS-FM radio show yesterday. "I thought it was a stick. I wasn't sure what had happened," he said. "I saw it swim! He took a bite, and he left…There were like 1,000 people in the ocean, and I get bit by the shark!" Luckily, while Ryan was "in pain," he wasn't hurt too badly. But he didn't even get a cool souvenir from the experience -- the shark's tooth "wasn't a great thing to find," he said. "It was like finding a splinter."

Yeah, we don't think Ryan will be hanging by the sea much more this summer…
