Crushable Quote Of The Day Art Imitating Life Imitating James Franco james franco general hospital 305x276 221x200 jpgSo General Hospital filmed one of their scenes at the MoCa, as part of James Franco‘s storyline this season but also because James Franco’s (in character) got his own real-life art show? James, as we all know, plays “Franco,” who is an artist but is tied to the mafia and also his mom (on the show and IRL) is involved and yada yada yada, you know the story. ANYWAY, from The New Yorker, we finally find out why James Franco is doing the whole soap opera route (again), and of course it is for the most pretentious reasons possible:

Pay attention to me! “Franco” is saying…

Asked about the layers of performance, he said, “It’s kind of hard to tease ’em all out.” He took a sip of coffee, and said it all began with “Erased James Franco,” a conceptual film piece he’d made, two years ago, with an artist called Carter, in which Franco had re-created performances from his feature films. He and Carter talked about making another movie, in which he would play a character who is an actor on a soap opera. “I said, ‘What if I really did that? Wouldn’t that be interesting?’ ” Franco said.

If you weren’t so good, James “Pay attention to me” Franco, we might actually hate you.
