Christoph Waltz Hosts SNL And Also A Spot In My Heart
Ever since I first saw Inglorious Basterds, I've had a thing for Christoph Waltz. I can only imagine the field day a therapist would have with that sentence, but it is what it is. He's incredibly talented and incredibly adorable, what's not to like?! Even the way he says “Alabama Shakes” was cute. Back off, okay?
Anyway, he hosted SNL last night and he was just as fun and lovely as I thought he'd be. I never thought I'd get so much joy out of a vigilante Jesus! By the way, if you've never seen a Tarantino movie you're either 13 years old or seriously missing out on a slew of good movies. I digress. Please enjoy some of the stand-out moments from SNL last night:
1.) Stranded Cruise
A stranded Carnival cruise has never looked more fun! Bill Hader as mentalist Victor L'Estrange and passengers eating monkeys? What's not to love.
2.) Christoph Waltz monologue
Just clearing up some misconceptions: Christoph Waltz is Austrian, which is different from German, and casual Hitler looks pretty good in Lacoste. I was waiting for someone to come out and make fun of Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is also Austrian, but I'm kind of glad no one did.
Probably one of the best sketches that SNL has produced in a long time. Jesus in un-crossed and out for blood! Any appearance of Taran Killam's Brad Pitt is delightful, and Aldo the Ro-mann hunter was awesome. Again, if you haven't seen any Tarantino films… simply put, you should be scalped.
4.) The Jamarcus Brothers
I love anything to do with late 70s/early 80s soul. Darnell and Marcus Jamarcus were great, but they're nothing without their “adopted white virgin” brother, Englebert. His white jheri curl wig and porn stache = added bonus.
5.) Weekend Update
I usually love all parts of Weekend Update because I kinda sorta love all parts of Seth Meyers. I also love all parts of Kate McKinnon and any accent she can do. Her milkshake brings all the boys to the haunted mine, meteor or not.
