Chris Pratt Used To Be An Amateur Stripper, And He Has Such An Andy Dwyer Explanation For It

Chris Pratt shirtless selfie GOTG July 2013In the mood for a fun celebrity fact to share at parties or on boring dates or over a particularly awkward Thanksgiving dinner with your family? Congratulations, I have one for you. Chris Pratt, that lovable funny guy from Parks and Recreation, used to be an amateur stripper when he was 18. He shared the tidbit in a new interview with Buzzfeed, and the explanation he gives for why he got into the clothes-removing business is priceless.

“I was always a very much naked person. I loved to always get naked. I was very free, so I thought, I may as well get paid.”

Maybe it's just that I have a difficult time separating actors from their famous characters if I don't know much about them as people, but that sounds like such an Andy Dwyer way of explaining it. Like, I just really liked getting naked all the time, so I figured I might as well get paid for it. Duh.

Apparently one of Chris's stripping gigs was at the birthday party of his friend's grandma, which is pretty awkward, but probably not quite as awkward as being naked in front of your own grandma (ahem, Justin Bieber). But I've never stripped in front of any grandmas (I know, I'm such a prude), so I won't make that call.

“It was a surprise,” he said, laughing. “I don’t know how it got around to them, but they paid me $40. I was never like Magic Mike, you know. I did go one time and audition on a stage for a club, but I don’t think I got the job. I don’t think I’m a very good dancer.”

Aww, Aaaandy. Er, I mean aww, Chriiiis. I'm sure he's a perfectly acceptable dancer. We at least know he can get his body into crazy good shape, as evidenced by those shirtless selfies he's shared. I think Channing Tatum should watch his back. He definitely felt a disturbance in the Force just now and has caught on to the fact that someone's stealing his former stripper thunder. They should probably have a stripper dance battle to resolve this feud I just invented, wouldn't you agree?
