Chris Evans Should Just Be In A Love Rectangle With All Three Of These Actresses For Captain America 2

Chris Evans Captain America: The Winter Soldier love interest Anna Kendrick Imogen Poots Felicity JonesWhen it comes to casting men for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, it's incredibly easy. You've got Chris Evans returning as the titular hero Steve Rogers, frozen for nearly seventy years and then thawed out in 2011 to go fight Loki and co. in The Avengers, and now helm his second movie. Sebastian Stan will most likely reprise his role as Steve's best bud Bucky Barnes, who fell to his death in an icy chase in World War II but according to the comics — spoilers, I guess — returns in the modern day as Cap's enemy the Winter Soldier. And Anthony Mackie is the perfect choice to portray Cap's ally Falcon, who was also mainstream comics' first African-American superhero when he was introduced in 1969.

However, casting Steve's love interest is proving to be a lot more difficult, as Marvel has come across several actresses who are equally lovely and talented for the role. While the studio hasn't confirmed who Chris Evans will be gazing soulfully at on the big screen, fans think that Cap's love interest will be Sharon Carter, S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and the descendant of his love from the first movie Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell). According to Page Six, the studio has settled on three frontrunners: Anna Kendrick, Imogen Poots, and Felicity Jones.

I seriously couldn't recommend one over the others! Although Up and Comers makes a good point that Anna Kendrick has mostly charmed us in quirky sidekick roles, I think her upcoming lead role in Pitch Perfect could show her as a tough, viable female lead. Speaking of toughness, in last year's Fright Night Imogen Poots was an excellent departure from the “damsel in distress” role, playing off Colin Farrell‘s vampire with a great mix of sexual attraction and repulsion. And while I haven't seen Like Crazy yet, Felicity Jones is just mesmerizing.

I could see why Felicity might have the best vote since she's already helmed an indie movie, and since she is the only one of the three who's a Brit like her on-screen ancestor Hayley Atwell. However, considering that there are several generations between Captain America and its sequel, the movie version of Sharon Carter could've been born in America.

So, how could we get all three ladies in the movie at once? I wish there were some way to have three Sharon Carters, like clones or alternate-universe selves, but the sequel has enough going on it doesn't have time for that silliness. I know! We'll have Imogen play the descendant of the blonde hussy who kisses Steve in Captain America, Felicity will play Sharon… and Anna can definitely have a role, maybe as a quirky civilian.
