If you're like me and live in the northeastern United States, then you know the weather's been far from sunny recently. But being trapped inside due to a blizzard is the perfect time to watch a ton of TV without feeling lazy,  because it's not like you can go do anything anyway. My show suggestion? It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. It's funny, it will cheer up your winter blues, and you'll be celebrating the birthday of one of it's stars, Charlie Day — who happens to turns 37 today.

On Sunny, Charlie Day plays Charlie Kelly. There are many words to describe Mr. Kelly: Illiterate. Janitor. Inventor. Rat murderer. He's obsessed with “The Waitress.” He huffs glue regularly, hangs out with “bridge people,” and his favorite food is “milk steak with raw jelly beans.” Regardless of what crazy, and usually offensive, hijinks Charlie gets into with The Gang, he's consistent with his hilarity and his enthusiastic high-pitched exclamations. Which is why, in honor of his birthday, I present Charlie's best moments!

The Whole Episode of “Charlie Kelly: King of the Rats”

This entire episode is amazing. Quintessential Charlie episode, in my opinion. He's got some great quotes. “Sometimes I wonder, are our lives really more valuable than theirs?” Charlie ponders after killing 200 rats in the bar's basement. “What is this word spa? I feel like you're starting to say a word and you're not finishing it. Are you trying to say spaghetti?” he asks Dee when she invites him on a spa day. Finally, The Gang makes Charlie's beyond strange dream book into a reality complete with a denim chicken, a bird with teeth (“I'm assuming the teeth are fake, yes? Did you discover a bird with teeth in this fashion?”), and multiple takes on the worm hat.

The Green Man

The Green Man dances with the Phillie Phanatic. The Green Man does acid and dances with the McPoyles. Regardless of what The Green Man does, we love him and his moves.

The Nightman Cometh

Charlie's musical The Nightman Cometh makes for one of the best episodes of the series. From the fact that he wrote the songs while huffing silver spray paint to the way it's written in pictures because he's illiterate, The Nightman Cometh is Charlie through and through. IN REAL LIFE the cast took the play on tour, which I just found out and is amazing.

Awesome Dance Moves

Whether dressed as the Green Man or participating in a dance contest to save the bar, Charlie's got some great moves. One of the most memorable is the butt dance he does in preparation of the gang opening up their time capsule. Sing it with me now: “Butt, butt. Butt, butt, butt.”  I encourage everyone to use it when celebrating their own joyful times.

Man, I could watch that cat walk awkwardly across that table for hours.

I'm sure I've overlooked many, many great Charlie moments. Tell me your favorites in the comments!
