Crushable’s Guide To The Most Intense Celebrity Beards Happening At The Moment

I noticed something the other day. There are quite a few beards in Hollywood right now. No, I'm not talking about those kinds of beards, although one could argue there are a lot of them too. I'm talking about real beards. The hairy face kind. And the beards that these celebrity men are sporting are intense. They're long and bushy and unkempt and uniquely shaped.  A lot of them have grown them out for roles, which means in the near future we're going to be seeing those intense beards on the big screen. I hope you're ready for that.

I figured since it might be helpful to put together a little guide for our readers. Gaze upon the magnificence of these beards, and then tell us your favorite in the comments! Or maybe speculate as to what they could possibly be hiding under there. Secrets, perhaps?

1. Leonardo DiCaprio

We've already discussed this look in detail, but let's take another gander at it, shall we? Leo is apparently sporting this look to play frontiersman Hugh Glass. The beard is striking enough, but Leo went ahead and added a tiny man bun to it. That's… not the best combo.

2. Andrew Garfield

That is quite the bottom-heavy beard. It's as if his upper lip told his chin and cheeks, “You guys go ahead. I'll catch up with you.” Andrew has always had a pretty full head of hair as well, so this is quite a bushy situation we're looking at. And it's not even for a role! Andrew said at the Venice Film Festival that it's “just for me, because I never thought in my life that I would go through puberty and it happened.”

3. Will Forte

!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, for a second there I was incapable of expressing myself in anything other than exclamation points. That is definitely not a bottom-heavy beard. That is an all-around-heavy beard. Where is his mouth? Do we need to file a missing persons report for it? I'm worried this beard is just going to work its way up his entire face and connect with his eyebrows. He actually is growing it out for a role, the TV show The Last Man on Earth.

4. Hugh Jackman

To be fair, Hugh just shaved this off. But I couldn't not include it. LOOK AT IT. Let's just pretend he still has it, okay? Because it's just too perfect. He kept it like that for months for his role as the pirate Blackbeard in the upcoming movie Pan. Coupled with the bald head, it was simply magnificent. We'll miss you, pirate beard.

5. Mark Hamill

Mark Hamill, aka Luke Skywalker, made it very clear recently that this beard is “contractually obligated” for his role in the new Star Wars. Of course geeks around the world are calling it his “Jedi beard,” and they approve highly. May the beard force be with him.
