Remember that really awkward Cara Delevingne interview that went viral a couple of months ago in which Cara gave some sarcastic answers to Sacramento news anchors’ unoriginal questions and they proceeded to tell her to “take a nap”? Game of Thrones actor Richard Madden recently had something to say about it in an interview with the Sunday Times, and he wasn’t on Cara’s side.

Here’s what he said, according to The Huffington Post:

“It was unprofessional. It made her seem ungrateful. She showed her age. For ‘Cinderella,’ I did six weeks of those interviews, where you get asked the same eight questions. If you’re not capable of doing that gracefully, then don’t do it.”

Welp, Cara herself got wind of Richard’s comments, and she confronted him about it on Twitter yesterday:

Richard gave a classic celebrity response, claiming he was “misquoted.”

I can’t say I’m really on anyone’s side in this situation. I don’t agree with Rob’s initial comments, but he had the right to express them, and he certainly didn’t do it in an offensive manner. There were no lies spread or names called. I would hardly call it “bad mouthing.” If Cara really wasn’t willing to ignore it, she at least didn’t have to react the way she did. The whole “I have no idea who you are” bit is just unnecessary.

On the other hand, I’m so sick and tired of celebrities claiming their words were taken out of context or misrepresented if they get called out for it. You said something and someone got upset about it. Just own it. Defend it or apologize for it, but don’t pretend you didn’t say it. That’s such a cop out.
