Christian Burn! Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell Says He’s Not Praying For Lindsay Lohan

Brian Littrell is not praying for Lindsay Lohan bad Christian God Backstreet BoysI'm not a really religious person, and I often grapple with the question of how useful it is to tell someone you're praying for them. But when we're talking about who religious celebrities are not praying for… then it's kind of amazing.

Turns out former Backstreet Boys member Brian Littrell has been a born-again Christian since the age of 8. So it makes sense that when TMZ ran into him at the airport, they'd ask if he's praying for troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan. But his answer made me laugh out loud. Like, actual sounds coming out of my mouth, not just letters on a keyboard: “Unfortunately, not.”

As the camera man laughed, Brian shrugged apologetically and said, “I'm probably breaking a lot of ministers' hearts. It's like, ‘He's a Christian. He should pray for everybody.' But she's not in my prayers at night. I'm sorry.”

Can I say that I love how he's poking fun at himself and dissing LiLo in the same breath? If I were someone who prayed regularly, I wouldn't put Lindsay Lohan alongside African orphans or my unemployed friends or the family of that guy who got pushed into the path of an oncoming subway. Those are people I would want to send my good vibes out to, not a washed-up, 26-year-old trainwreck.

Then again, I'm not part of Hollywood. When I saw that Brian had been asked this question, I thought that maybe as a celebrity he would have more sympathy for someone who's attended the same parties, released the same pop singles, but veered off the road (literally and figuratively) and has a horrible, famewhoring family who would rather deride her in headlines than get her actual help.

Nope. Sounds like God isn't getting too many requests to lend LiLo a helping hand or a burning bush. (Insert “firecrotch” joke here? I don't even know.) Keep on keeping on, Brian Littrell.
