Brandi Glanville Lets Us Down By Admitting She’s Yet Another Poor Real Housewife

Brandi Glanville poor Eddie Cibrian divorce living above their means Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Taylor ArmstrongLest you think that Bravo were the only ones who struck gold when they decided to make Brandi Glanville an official member of the Real Housewives of New York cast, Brandi revealed that the money from her reality TV career is sorely needed. As she told the New York Post, she was left penniless when ex-husband Eddie Cibrian left her for LeAnn Rimes three years ago.

But before you go blaming Eddie, Brandi admits that she was complicit in the family's financial irresponsibility. “We were living way above our means,” she said, “in a 10,000-square-foot house. There wasn't a lot to get, honestly.” And after she became a single mother, it was shocking how powerless she actually was: “I was a 36-year-old woman who couldn’t lease a car and couldn’t lease a house. For 13 years, my name wasn’t on one account. I am still building my credit.”

To be honest, it's a little disappointing to discover that Brandi isn't rolling in the cash. This show is set in Beverly Hills, for crissakes! I still remember the original previews for season 1, with Dana Wilkey‘s $25,000 sunglasses and Kyle Richards‘ sprawling mansion. We expect fiscal issues from Sonja Morgan because she's from the New York contingent, but not the carefree, overtanned ladies of the 90210 zip code.

Did you see Lisa Vanderpump‘s daughter's wedding last season? And yet, we hear about Taylor Armstrong hocking her fake designer bags to pay off a settlement and Brandi's single-mom woes. I expected better, ladies.

Also, why did Brandi wait until now to tell us about her money issues? Maybe because of LeAnn's recent rehab stay for cyberbullying, and Brandi wanted a proportional amount of sympathy. Of course, considering that the women who went after LeAnn on Twitter were fans of Brandi, that may not happen anytime soon.
