Good and Bad News
Hey Alloy!

WHAT A WEEK. Where do I start? I guess I could start with the big news! Some of it's great and some...less than great, but not bad!! I'll get the less than great news over with -- my label called me earlier this week telling me that we are going to push my album release back 2 weeks. It WAS April 27 but will now be MAY 11th! The reason is simple: I am on this tour with Honor Society and Just Kait and in order to release my album while still on the tour, I would have to miss a couple shows... And I don't want to miss any of them!! They are all so important to me!

The great news is that because everyone on the tour and Twitter and Alloy have been so wonderful in helping me promote the former release date April 27, I am giving you a gift! On April 27th, go to my website and download an exclusive bonus track that is NOT featured on the album! ONE DAY ONLY, so don't forget! It's my way of saying thank you for being the best fans ever!

Also, Wal-mart's "Secrets of the Mountain" premiered on ABC the other night and my song "Trippin' It Up" is on the soundtrack sold at-you guessed it- Wal-mart! It's so exciting! Go get it!!

In Minneapolis, we played at the coolest little club/theater called the Varsity. It was in the college town of the University of Minnesota, so I went exploring a little. I found the cutest little old bookstore. I got three books, 1 of which I'm reading and loving: The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith. I've always heard about it but am just now getting it! It's teaching me a lot about life and about enjoying the simple things.

I got to spend 3 days in beautiful Chicago this week... and it was the best thing ever. If you've never been, you should definitely go. :) My mom came in on my second day, and she and I went all the way to Wicker Park to find a laundromat! We spent about 3 hours in there -- Ashlyne has a lot of clothes! Then we went and shopped a little off Michigan Avenue, and got ice cream at Ghiradelli! The next morning my dad showed up hobbling around from having had knee surgery 2 days prior! We ate lunch and took a cab over to the amazing Chicago House of Blues for soundcheck!

The show was amazing -- so much fun. I think it was my favorite yet! It was great to have my family there, but the thrill of the night was definitely the crowd. The energy was unprecedented and unforgettable. Thank you, Chicago.

We had another awesome show in Pittsburgh, which was cool because it was an old roller rink...I definitely did some flips after we finished the meet and greet. Gym floors are so inviting for some reason. Maybe it's all the dance competitions and pep rallies!

And this coming week I get to go to NYC, not once but twice! And Canada, Ohio, and Philly! Wish me luck! I hope you guys had a wonderful week!

Love to all,

P.S. "Heart of Gold" is playing on the radio now and it's insane and surreal to say the least! And if you're not following me on Twitter yet, SHAME!

You Say!
