Bill Murray Late Show with David Letterman Liberace entrance

After watching this video of Bill Murray's entrance to The Late Show With David Letterman last night, I'm reminded that we need more Bill Murray in the world. I feel like he's one of those guys who pops up every now and then and you go, “Oh wow this guy is so amazing! I want to watch him all the time!” Then he kind of falls off the radar for a little while and you don't really think about him. And suddenly he pops up again and you go, “Right, this guy's totally awesome!” And on and on and on. It's the circle of life. But I think we should petition to get more Bill Murray, all day, errday, to the end of time. Because he's totally hilarious, you guys. And he doesn't even have to say anything to make me laugh.

Last night was David Letterman's 20th anniversary celebration on The Late Show, and if you ask me he picked the perfect guest. There's a very clear reference to Liberace, an icon who seems on the verge of becoming this year's Marilyn Monroe in terms of pervasive pop culture fascination, thanks to the TV movie Behind the Candelabra. And when the reference involves a fabulous cape and a cute little dog, who wouldn't go for it? Bill Murray went for it, and it was FABULOUS.

Bill was David Letterman's first Late Show guest back in 1993, so it's fitting that he was the guest 20 years later. Bill's appeared on Letterman's show about 25 times over the years, and he always goes all out. And the world thanks him for it. Let's give three cheers for Bill Murray. Remember a few months ago when he imitated a crying baby? Like I said, he just pops up like a whack-a-mole to remind us how effortlessly funny he is, except instead of whacking him on the head we want to give him a high five.

If this entrance isn't enough fabulous Bill Murray for you, might I suggest watching the video below, in which he sings Whitney Houston's “I Will Always Love You” like an angel. Seriously, we need to see more of this guy. Every day.
