The 11 TV Boyfriends We Still Want To Date
Ahhhh, fictional boyfriends. Here at Crushable, our staff adds a new one to our list at least once a week. One guy who's always somewhere near the top of our list? Adam Brody, AKA Seth Cohen on The OC. He introduced us to a different kind of heartthrob, a comic book geek who professes his love standing on coffee carts. Now Adam has moved on to queen bee Blair Waldorf, aka his fiancée Leighton Meester… and we're working through that fact every single day.
In honor of our original boyfriend turning 35 today (and moving on from us), we're taking a look back at some of our other fictional boyfriends.
1. Dean Forrester on Gilmore Girls
As Dean on Gilmore Girls, Jared Padalecki made every other girl’s first boyfriend look like a loser. He was always a perfect gentleman, even when Rory left him for Jess. That is, until he got married to someone else and took Rory’s virginity anyways. Oops. Still got a crush on him! Jared has been starring as Sam Winchester on Supernatural now for 10 years and married to Genevieve Cortese, who played Kris on Wildfire.
2. Jess Mariano on Gilmore Girls
Though we already loved Dean, the moment Milo Ventimiglia showed up as bad boy with a heart of gold Jess, we were immediately torn. Well, other people were torn. I jumped ship to Team Jess immediately. While he taunted the rest of Stars Hollow, he always did good deeds whenever it benefitted Rory. And she inspired him to write a novel! Since Gilmore Girls, Milo co-starred in the show Heroes with then-girlfriend Hayden Panetierre. He has also made appearances in That's My Boy and Grown Ups 2.
3. Tim Riggins on Friday Night Lights
Friday Night Lights spawned numerous fictional boyfriends such as Saracen, Street, Smash, Landry, even Coach himself, but no one commanded our attention like Tim Riggins. After the show ended, portrayer Taylor Kitsch has been building his body of work as a major action star. Unfortunately, most of these movies haven’t done too well at the box office: Battleship, John Carter, and Savages, to name a few. Hopefully, his upcoming movie, Lone Survivor, fares better.
4. Lucas Scott on One Tree Hill
CMM is my OG fictional boyfriend. Prior to playing Lucas Scott on One Tree Hill, he made appearances as bad boys on Dawson’s Creek and Gilmore Girls. Tortured artist Lucas won us over, though, even if he switched girlfriends as often as his underwear. In real life, he wasn’t so charming, cheating on then-wife and co-star Sophia Bush. He spent 7 years engaged to Kenzie Dalton, with whom he cheated on Bush, but eventually ended it in early 2013. Look out for him in Tyler Perry's A Madea Christmas.
