Ben Affleck And Jennifer Garner Make A Totally Spontaneous And Definitely Not Scripted Ice Bucket Video

In case you've been on a no-Internet diet the past week (in which case thanks for making Crushable your first choice for breaking your fast), allow me to inform you that at the rate we're going, every single celebrity in Hollywood will have participated in the ALS ice bucket challenge by Friday. The point is to raise awareness for ALS, or Lou Gehrig's disease, but as Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner proved yesterday, it's also a great opportunity to convince people, through an adorable video, that you're definitely not having marital problems.

The idea behind the challenge is to either donate $100 to support ALS research or pour a bucket of ice water over your head and post the video to social media to raise awareness. It's implied that you should also donate something regardless, especially if you're a rich celebrity, so it's good that Ben Affleck makes it clear that he's doing just that early on in the video. He then challenges Jimmy Kimmel, Neil Patrick Harris, Matt Damon, and a certain lady named Jennifer Garner, who immediately pops into frame to do the freezing honor herself.

And then of course Ben and Jen playfully fall into the swimming pool behind them to the sound of off-camera laughter from one of their kids. Just some spontaneous happily married couple fun that I totally saw coming as soon as the video started and I noticed that Ben was standing directly in front of a pool. (It's a general rule that if a video starts with someone standing next to a pool, they will be pushed in by the end of it.) But it totally wasn't planned or anything, you guys. And everything is totally fine between them, OKAY?!

But hey, planned or spontaneous, maybe this was a cathartic experience for them. As Ben himself said, marriage is work, and sometimes you gotta let off a little steam by taking digs at each other in interviews and/or pouring freezing water on each other and/or pushing each other into pools. Whatever you gotta do, you two.
