Proving the Dream of the ’90s is Alive in Vegas, The Backstreet Boys Will Be Doing a Residency There
Even though we would have been ok with just watching their zombie apocalypse movie over and over again to get our fill of the '90s greatest boy band (fight me *NSYNC fans), The Backstreet Boys are giving us even more. Nick Carter confirmed that all 5 boys will be heading to Las Vegas for nine shows with Live Nation that could turn into a longer residency. He told Entertainment Tonight, “If it does really well, then I think that'll open that door and then in future we'll do it. So that's definitely going to happen but we're going to do a trial run first.” The show will probably debut later this year or early 2017.
Oh and fellow Backstreet Boy Kevin Richardson also let it be known that group is in the studio working on a new album AND will do a world tour. So thank whatever pop gods you've been praying to because it is working.
Not content to just throw all that on us, Nick also commented on the joint Backstreet Boys/Spice Girls tour rumors that gave us a mini heart attack last year. He said, “We put the invitation out there and the girls just gotta figure it all out.” Last week, a Spice Girls 20th anniversary reunion tour was reportedly confirmed by Us Weekly, so maybe they will team up after all. They could just be slowly giving us hints about the joint tour so we all don't immediately collapse when it becomes official. At least, that's what I really hope is the case.
