10 Reasons The Backstreet Boys Documentary Will Actually Be Good Based On The Trailer Backstreet BOys gif

Does it feel like your teeth are growing braces? Do you have a sudden desire to tie a sweatshirt around your waist? Don’t worry, you haven’t become Benjamin Button. Your body is just responding to the fact that a new trailer for the Backstreet Boys documentary has been released. That’s right, there’s a Backstreet Boys documentary coming out. And believe it or not, it actually looks good. Interesting, even.

The movie’s called Backstreet Boys: Show ‘Em What You’re Made Of. Never in a million years did I ever think I’d say “Ooh, tell my why more!” about a boy band documentary, but I did exactly that while watching this trailer. I expected it to be some kind of “Look how fun and cute we are!” fan service doc, but it actually looks a lot more hard-hitting than that. Here are a few reasons you’ll want to see it, based on the trailer.

  1. They’re willing to admit they sort of became losers: “What do you do when you’re a full-grown man in a boy band?” #Awkward
  2. There’s behind-the-scenes footage of them playing instruments like real musicians! Howie has a tambourine!
  3. They’re going to talk about how the group got formed, cheesy ’90s photographs included.
  4. Did you know they got their start in Europe?
  5. Did you also know that they sold 14 million copies of their first album without it even coming out in the U.S.?
  6. They’re all so determined to have their comeback and prove themselves that you just can’t help but root for them.
  7. There’s mention of $300 million dollars being stolen. DRAMA!
  8. I see tears! MORE DRAMA!
  9. Nick Carter says “I’m not afraid of you anymore!” with a pointed finger. EVEN MORE DRAMA!
  10. Don’t worry, it looks like we’ll still get plenty of performances too.

Just you wait, one day we’ll be talking about One Direction’s comeback documentary. And the Backstreet Boys will be watching from their rocking chairs going, “We did it first!”
