Attention Everyone: Tom Hiddleston Would Like to Play James Bond

BFI LFF - High Rise - Festival Gala and Premiere

Tom Hiddleston is making his case for becoming the next James Bond. And we're so here for it. After all, the guy does check off some very important Bond qualities – British, handsome, looks hot in/out of suits, can command an alien army to take over New York (ok maybe not that last one). Tom talked about the possibility of taking over the Bond mantle with the Sunday Times saying he is “a huge fan of the series.” “We all went to see ‘Spectre' when we were shooting ‘Skull Island' in Hawaii. I simply love the theme tune, the tropes and the mythology. I love the whole thing. If it ever came knocking, it would be an extraordinary opportunity,” Tom said adding “And I'm very aware of the physicality of the job. I would not take it lightly.”

Speculation over who would be the next Bond has ramped up since current one Daniel Craig told TimeOut London that he would “rather break this glass and slash my wrists” than return for the role. He said if he did another Bond film “it would only be for the money.” Daniel later clarified that he was kidding (kind of) and would be open to another one. Though, I think it's safe to assume if we get more Bond films soon, there will be another actor asking for his martini shaken not stirred.

Tom Hardy, Idris Elba, and Henry Cavill are among those reportedly in the running for the gig. Although, let's be real, I think society as a whole wants/needs Idris. But once it's all said and done, Tom would be a pretty fantastic choice too.
