Ashley Greene Is So Over The Robsten Drama Because She Stands To Gain The Most Post-Twilight

Ashley Greene post-Twilight career movies hopes Robsten drama won't "taint" Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2Am I the only one who thinks that Ashley Greene cannot wait to be done with the Twilight franchise? With the emotional upheaval of the last few months, where Kristen Stewart went from the face of the series to hated for cheating on Robert Pattinson, Ashley seems to have replaced Kristen as the go-to for quotes and insights about the final movie, Breaking Dawn, Part 2.

But now that Robsten is reunited, of course Seventeen had to ask her if she thought the drama would affect Twihards. The magazine's latest cover girl answered,

“Hopefully it won't taint [the movie] and people will still be able to enjoy it. I think a lot of people see us as our characters. I really want them to still be able to do that.”

Interestingly, this quote comes around the same time as another cover story on Ashley—with GQ UK (via a fansite), “I'm lucky because I don't get typecast. Rob is so screwed.” Whereas Rob and Kristen have joked about playing Edward and Bella for the rest of their lives, it's clear that for Ashley Twilight is a stepping stone to the rest of her career. She may be the hardest-working member of the cast; since the first movie came out in 2008, she's appeared in nine other movies — in addition to the Twilight sequels — and had a recurring role on the cancelled drama Pan Am. Holy crap, girl.

She's also had countless magazine cover shoots where she willingly models designer clothes and bathing suits, not to mention that Sobe body paint campaign in 2011. She also candidly divulges quotes like the one about typecasting. I know that I joked that Teresa Palmer could replace the sullen, spotlight-hating Kristen Stewart, but perhaps we needed to look closer to home to find K. Stew's more pleasant and open foil.

While Kristen and Rob were broken up, Ashley managed to sidestep having to talk about them at non-Twilight events. But I have to wonder if she cracked and acknowledged this summer's drama as a way to remind us that it's over. She obviously has bigger fish to fry, like her new movie CBGB with Rupert Grint, Alan Rickman, Malin Akerman, and many other famous faces playing the greats from New York City's punk scene.

Still, just because she's probably ready to exit the franchise doesn't mean she's turning her back on the fans. Consider this cute twitpic she snapped at “fan camp,” the makeshift community of fans who camped out almost a week ahead of time for the Breaking Dawn, Part 2 premiere.
