Hate To Be Morbid, But Did You Know Chrissy From Now And Then Died Years Ago?

I know it's a Monday and you're working hard to ease back into the week with as few complications as possible, but I had to share this shocking information with someone else. Ashleigh Aston Moore, the actress who played young Chrissy DeWitt in the 1995 movie Now and Then died in 2007 at the age of 26.

So I know this news is old, but as a diehard Now and Then fan, I'm shocked that this didn't make bigger headlines back in '07. I only found out because Buzzfeed casually mentioned it on a larger Now and Then  photo post today. What?!

This is the movie that made seances hip and cool. And Chrissy is the character who said incredibly quotable lines like this one.

And this one, ” I know that, beetle-brain, but it's common knowledge that if you tongue-kiss a boy, he automatically thinks you'll do the deed with him. They can't help it. They're driven. It's the male curse. ”

How did this not make front page news? (Or how did I completely miss this?). Rumor has it she died of an accidental heroin overdose. But that's not verified and only mentioned in forums like this one.

According to her IMDB pageNow and Then was her biggest movie. After a role on Touched by an Angel in 1997, she stopped acting professionally. In good news, the other girls — Thora Birch, Christina Ricci, Gaby Hoffman — are all still alive and well. I'm nervous to even google the actor who played Crazy Pete.
