No Worries Everyone, American Horror Story Will Return for a Sixth Season
Good news, American Horror Story fans! AHS will be returning for a sixth season in 2016.
It's pretty unsurprising, given that the show is the highest-rated series in FX's history. (!!)
FX Networks CEO John Landgraf had this to say today:
With the sixth installment coming next year, American Horror Story has unquestionably joined the ranks of television’s landmark series. From Murder House to Hotel, AHS has pioneered a new television form, as well as becoming FX’s highest-rated show, while also pushing every conceivable boundary of creative excellence and audacity. This is even more remarkable because Ryan and co-creator Brad Falchuk tear up the playbook every year, challenging the entire creative team to come up with something even more spectacular, frightful and entertaining. You could not ask more of an artist, their team or a series and with every new installment they deliver.
We don't know what the subject matter will be or who will be a part of the cast, but we're sure many of the Murphy favorites will return. Can we please get Connie Britton back also?!
The Hollywood Reporter says:
The first four installments of the FX series earned 71 Emmy Award nominations and 13 wins, including five for fourth installment Freak Show. The fifth entry, Hotel, is pacing ahead of all prior installments. In fact, through its first four episodes, Hotel is 7 percent ahead of Freak Show among adults 18-49 and 1 percent among total viewers. The Hotel premiere marked the second-most-watched telecast in FX Networks history, behind only the premiere episode of AHS: Freak Show.
I mean, daaaaamn. That's impressive. I was a latecomer to AHS, but am currently working on my binge-watching on Netflix for Freak Show, and I love it. So this is exciting.
