You Can ‘Admit’ Me Right Now: The Trailer For Admission Is Appropriately Adorbs Thanks To Tina Fey And Paul Rudd

There are few things in this world who delight me more than Tina Fey and the characters she portrays.  In fact, if I were to belt out a pre-Thanksgiving rendition of “My Favorite Things,” Tina Fey would be right up there with whiskers on kittens and warm apple strudel.  So when I saw that the trailer for Admission came out today — a movie starring Tina Fey — I became instantly excited.  Then I noticed that Admission also stars Paul Rudd, my male equivalent to Tina Fey, and the excitement evolved into full-blown Fräulein Maria joy.

Possibly focusing on movie-making full-time during the post-30 Rock era, in Admission Tina Fey stars as an admissions counselor from Princeton who meets Paul Rudd, a charming single dad who is pretty laid-back and funny.  I know this because he wears untucked flannel shirts.  It looks like a romance with Paul Rudd isn't the only thing throwing Tina's character off her Type-A game, because the son she placed for adoption during her college days resurfaces into her life.

I'm a fan of Tina Feyregularly portraying career-driven, single, childless women on screen.  Yet her characters always find their way to harmony in love, having kids, and job satisfaction by the end… which is completely unrealistic.  Maybe Admission won't end predictably?  Either way, I already know I'll be shelling out the money for a movie ticket instead of waiting for it to be available On-Demand.

The trailer leads me to believe that this movie is a cross between Baby Mama and Role Models, and I'm surprisingly okay with that.  The movie doesn't come out until March of next year, and after all of the hoity-toity, headache-inducing pretension of Oscar season, I think we'll all need a little break.  Admission looks like it will be just the ticket.
