Herein marks the end of the first week of the Believers Never Die Tour Part Deux, and my oh my, what a big week it was! Let's rewind back to the first night of the tour in Arizona. We all got around on scooters, which everyone in the band bought the day before at Walmart (only $40, highly recommended for those of you who don't have cars or, like us, are too lazy to walk everywhere).
All the bands met on the field of the amphitheater to watch each others' sound checks and toss a football around. You may or may not be surprised to know that Cassadee has a better arm than some of the guys in Hey Monday. Not gonna drop any names...
The next day was the first show, and we might as well just call this "Disaster," "Twister," or "Titanic," because every person on stage looked like the lead characters in these movies, due to the high waves of wind hitting all of us while we played. All Time Low's amps almost fell over and Jack bears a striking resemblance to Kate Winslet in bad weather conditions from the right angles.
As if the second show couldn't be crazy enough, the tour found itself now in California at Bamboozle Left. For those of you that have never heard of it, it's a big music festival with a ton of stages that goes on for two days and puts a ton of different bands in different genres next to each other. It's really good if you like more than one style of music. This was Hey Monday's first time performing together at Bamboozle, with the exception of Jersey's old group that won a battle of the bands when he was 14 and got to play at the one in New Jersey. Fun fact, eh?
The whole day was jam-packed with signings and fan hangouts and a questionable buffet serving only the finest in bean taco cuisine and churros.
We got to Vegas the next morning and headed straight to Zia Records for an acoustic set and signing. The record store is awesome and has a ton of vinyl which a bunch of us collect, including our own! That night we played at The Pearl and every band had a hangout at the G-Suite at The Palms after. There was even a slip and slide up there. Only in Vegas, right?
Yesterday was our first off day of the tour and we set out to go around Melrose and do a little bit of shopping. Before we could get there, someone had the bright idea to go to Six Flags, so we changed routes and filled the entire day riding roller coasters. Ever heard of X2? Google it. I've never been so terrified of anything in my entire life. This ride had fire, rotating and flipping seats on the train itself. Where do roller coaster designers draw the lines these days? This thing was amazing and I'll probably have problems sleeping tonight. Make the world stop spinning, please.
All's well that end's well.
