I'm just sitting at home in front of the computer drinking a cup of tea. I just got back from a promo trip in the UK. I have so much to tell you guys, I don't even know where to start! I absolutely loved staying in London again. It really is one of my favorite cities! I was there to promote my single "Outta Here," which was released in the UK on August 17th. I did a lot of interviews with magazines and different radio stations.
I met up with Rich and Kat from Capitol Radio, and they took me to a real Dutch pancake house, since they knew I used to be a pancake house waitress in my hometown. It was really cool to do an interview like that --it reminded me of home. I didn't even know there was such a place in London.
That's us in the picture. You can't see it in the pic, but we were standing in some huge wooden shoes. The pancakes were really good. I ordered mine with apple and cinnamon!
I also did an interview with BBC Radio 1. That's me in the pic arriving at the studio. I didn't know there was gonna be paparazzi there! The whole time I kept telling myself please don't fall, LOL.
Then I was live on the air with the very cool MistaJam. That's us posing in the pic.
Then after that I did another interview with the lovely DJ Target. They are so nice at BBC Radio 1.
The last day in London I had some time off, so I wanted to do something fun that I have wanted to do for a really long time and that is going on the London Eye. It was a little bit of a challenge since I have a slight fear of heights, but I am glad I did it -- it was amazing. First, you get to see this little 3D clip of what it's going to be like. Then after you go on the Ferris Wheel, you can see all of London. It was so beautiful! Can you see Big Ben? I was a little scared since I was standing so close to the edge.
It was a perfect way to end the trip. The next day when I went home, the single was officially released, and all of a sudden it went up the charts like crazy. I didn't expect it at all. I was watching the iTunes chart like a hawk. I thought just being in the Top 20 would be amazing, but it just kept going up. And this week it is officially number 7. Can't believe it. It really is the most amazing feeling. It's always kind of scary putting out music because you don't know what the response will be. Here is the proof : ) Thanks, UK for all the support!
So overall my trip to London turned out to be very successful. Can't wait to be back there to perform again. Now, I am back home catching up with my family and friends. I have been away for three months this time so I was really starting to miss them. Couldn't wait to tell them the exciting news. Getting ready to promote the 2nd single "Admit It" over here in Holland. Just saw the final edit of the video. Can't wait to show you guys what it looks like! Nice talking to you again!
Big kissss,
Esmée
