Under The Weather

Right now, I'm sitting in the green room of the Trocadero in Philadelphia. It's a cold and rainy day, the kind of day you'd rather spend at home. Instead of being at home, I'm on tour. Jake, our drummer, is sick right now, and his mood fits the weather outside. Getting sick on tour is terrible. As I said, today is the kind of day I wish I were home, but I understand that being under the weather on the road makes you even more homesick (no pun intended). Tour is amazing and very fun when you feel good. You can hang out with the friends you've made, and you can play well. When you're sick, though, everything is miserable. All you want to do is be in a warm bed, not having to worry about playing a show.

There have been plenty of times where I have been sitting in the van under plenty of covers, coughing up a storm. It sucks. I have even considered just flying home, because I just want to rest. It's really gross, but I have been on stage trying my hardest to not let snot fly out of my nose when I've been stuffed up pretty bad. When you are sick on stage, you definitely can't perform your best. It's easy to get down on yourself then. I try to drink a lot of water to feel better and that usually helps. So yeah, I feel bad for Jake, but I know he will feel better real soon!

Unfortunately, this will be the last blog that Mayday Parade will do for Alloy. We are all really happy and thankful for Alloy letting us do these blogs. We all also want to thank you guys for reading these blogs and keeping up with us. Thanks so much guys, without your help we wouldn't be able to keep playing music. See you all later!
