Way back when, you met Kanye West at Virgin Megastore and asked him to sign you. Would you do the same for a fan?
Kind of. There's a time and place for everything. A lot of kids don't appreciate the grind -- they want handouts, somebody to snatch them up. I didn't get my deal by running into Ye -- that came later. You make yourself hot and make people believers -- nobody's gonna believe in you if you don't show them that you're worth believing in. [Hip-hop is] about the grind. I worked hard to get everything I have. It makes the success a lot sweeter.
What's something fans would be surprised to know about Kanye?
His sense of humor is ridiculous. He's mad funny. Me and him have the same kind of humor -- we're into the same type of movies. He put me onto Step Brothers when we were on tour in Australia, and I was just rolling. He's just really a silly dude. We be clownin' all the time.
