Where do you get inspiration for your lyrics?
I have been writing lyrics for several years now and as you go through life, your priorities and perspective on life changes. It hasn't always been easy for me to say what is on my mind. Putting those emotions into a song has been my outlet and as I develop as an artist, [it] will be more reflective of my personality. My inspiration comes from whatever I am feeling at the moment and certain experiences I have had in life.

Will your songwriting change now that you have worked with professionals on Idol?
Working with so many talented artists on the show, such as Keith Urban, has taught me a lot and has exposed me to different kinds of music. I have appreciated learning from all the artists on the show and working with them because it has broadened my horizons so much.
