Your last song was "Ain't Too Proud to Beg." Were you happy with your pick?
I had that song in my head from the beginning. My hope was to accomplish energy on that stage, but to also show a soulful side of me. I believe I accomplished that. I was disappointed my health got in the way. I look back at the performance and maybe my voice wasn't 100%, but my heart was.

The night before, Simon said that you could not win the show. Did that offend you?
It didn't necessarily tick me off or insult me. It made me giggle because he knows better. We didn't get there by mistake. Unfortunately, it influenced in a negative direction, but a positive too, because who cares what they say? It's a compliment that they're talking about you. What the judges say [has] a huge impact...America listens and pays attention.
