What was it like the first time you guys played together again?
At the end of Gwen's last solo tour, she was ending her American part in Irvine, which is our home, Orange County. We were all going to come and hang out anyway, and she said, "Let's do something really fun: I'll do my show and when it's time to do the encore, you guys come on and we'll do three No Doubt songs and surprise everybody." So that was the first thing we did back together again on stage after a number of years, and it was just crazy exciting. The place kind of went nuts, and it was a really fun thing. It was incredible. We toured last in 2004 together, so it had been three years -- that was a good break from rock 'n' roll for me. I was kind of nervous -- I hadn't been on stage in front of 16,000 people in a while.
