Did they ask you for advice on transitioning from singing to acting?
Nobody really asks me for advice. We wind up having conversations sometimes, and the fact that I'm a manager, I'm very careful about how I talk to other people's clients because you don't want any problems there. You respect other people's clients, but as an actor, as a musician, as somebody that's been in the game for 20 years, I like to share whatever I can with anyone. I've always been like that. To help other people have a better or easier shot at doing what they are born to do. I've had conversations with Alicia, Jennifer and I talk when she's recording her new music and stuff, and just about really making sure she's doing things that she loves. For me, that's the most important thing, that you do what you love and you find a way to balance it all and make sure you maintain yourself. I think they're all right with all that. They're pretty strong women, but the more talent you have, [the more] it can become challenging just to balance it all, just to make sure you're doing that, so you don't get burnt down in any one area.
