Speaking of school, what were you like in high school?
Nerdy, but kind of crazy. I shaved my head in ninth grade and definitely was into some crazy music, and I played in a band. I was pretty weird for small town Texas, but people were surprisingly nice about that kind of thing if you grow up there. They're accepting of it, as crazy as you can be.

You're originally from Texas. When you were on Friday Night Lights, did you relive any of your high school memories?
Friday Night Lights is very, very similar to my high school and when I go home people are like, "I can't believe how close your character on Friday Night Lights was to you!" Yeah, it was definitely sort of like going home -- all the people with the Texas accents, the football-centric school -- but it was fun. I think that show is great because it actually does portray a Texas town in a realistic manner.
