Had you watched the show before getting the role?
I watched just one episode… And then when I got the job, I immediately watched. I had three days to prepare, so when I got the job, I watched all 18 episodes in 36 hours. It was kind of a crash course. And then immediately when I stopped watching it, I immediately thought that I sold Girl Scout cookies and I was in love with Chace Crawford… I was completely entertained, completely enthralled. I remember exactly what I was doing in the hotel room in the Hamptons when I was watching the episode where she was like, "I killed someone!" and I was like, "What?!" It was so hilarious. I'm a full-grown man and I am far too excited about what's happening in these episodes of Gossip Girl, but I think that's a real testament to the kind of crossover and demographics that it appeals to.
