How do you choose which songs went on the album?
Honestly, there were 18 that we decided sounded the best, but the rest just fell into place. It's a strange thing to try to describe because it's not a conscious thing. When you listen to songs together, the ones that magically hit are the ones that we pick. A lot of songwriting has little to do with the conscious mind. It's not really a spiritual thing, but a song just sounds good, and trying to put your finger on it really wrecks why you picked it. If you a throw a couple of things in the pot and it starts tasting good, that's when you know it's ready.

What's your favorite song on the album?
I still kind of get a little teary-eyed when I hear "I Don't Mind." It came from one night that was really hard for me to get through.
