There are plenty of reasons why The Other Boleyn Girl is a must-see movie -- the beautiful scenery, the riveting plot, the amazing costumes. But really, only two reasons matter to us: Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson, who play Anne and Mary Boleyn. Based on British history, the film follows the sisters as they vie for the love and attention of Henry VIII. We chatted with these two top starlets (who even seem to share the same sisterly bond offscreen) about dating, marriage, humongous dresses, and more. Read on!
You both seem to be playing away from type -- Scarlett usually plays saucier characters, and Natalie usually plays quieter characters. Was there any choice of who played which Boleyn girl?
Natalie: I was excited to play Anne. I felt like it was something I hadn't tried before. Obviously, we're both the right age for either one of the parts, and we take it as a compliment to each of us that we could conceivably do each one.
