How are you like Juliet?
Juliet and I are both very ambitious. She wants to live a life that is notable and admirable. I like that about her because she isn’t basic. She wants more than what is given. She wants what is beyond the bend, over the horizon and just out of reach. More than willing, Juliet wants to work for it. I love that because she could have anything she wants, but what she really wants is experience.
How did you develop Juliet's character?
I begin a character with the dialogue. That is where everything lays really. From there you lift the story and bring it to life. And I think that is magical. Our writers on the show are so great. They have our characters down pat. The way I develop Juliet’s movements or body language is based on her dialogue. What types of word she uses in what scenarios control and contort how I move. Then of course there is hair, make-up, and wardrobe which is all discussed and planned before we begin every episode. It really is a lot of fun.
